What was the very first record you bought?

First record I bought I guess was Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep by Middle Of The Road – I was 12 years old.

What are your 5 very favorite bands ever?

Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Bauhaus, Cramps.

Name 5 bands that have changed your life?

Bowie of course (I realized the God can manifest in humans) , Velvet Underground (I understood what real uncompromising underground music and cool self – expression is), Iggy Pop (He saved me from suicidal thoughts and tendencies as I hated the lying, cheating and vulgar Human Race so much – I understood that someone else had that burning in his soul so I felt relieved) Bauhaus (I realized that Bowie was not the only one – we can manifest the art/ vision/ poetry / strength and style – it is possible ) PIL – (listening to PIL made us start the PinUps and I could get over this horrible chain of Finnish guilt, shame and worthlessness feelings and open my mouth and sing anyway)

Name your 3 favorite Gothic Fests?

I never go the any fests – I once went to the most famous ones in Finland as a pre – goth person in 1982 and it was so revolting looking at those drunkards and half-naked country boys there that I decided that I will never anymore attend any festival be it goth, rock or anything else and I never attended.

Name your 3 favorite gigs as a musician / fan

David Bowie 1976 Helsinki, Messukeskus, Last gig of Bauhaus in London ( was it 1982 ? ) the First gig of Birthday Party when they came to England ( At least I thought it was the first one but I’m not sure ) – Venue maybe 1981 or something?

Name the most 3 influential albums for you as an artist / fan

Well, maybe I could say that Vivaldi’s FOUR SEASONS ( for same reason as with the artist Iggy – it gave a sense of beauty and relief in an ugly and pretentious world ), David Bowie LOW, Bauhaus; MASK.

Describe yourself with 3 adjectives

Incomprehensible, limitless and sometimes quite nice also…

What is the most overrated gothic band?

I have no clue – I was there when all this started and bands or people did not call themselves as Goths – it came only later and I guess the originals would have felt a bit insulted to be labelled as something as they were great artists…. so I can´t answer to this kind of question. Maybe any band that can be labelled really as GOTH or who Really want to be labelled as GOTH is already wrong?

What is the most underrated gothic band?

In which band would you have liked to play live?

I never wanted to play in any band other that mine or with any other band nor would I ever go on stage with any other band to do these sing-along-buddy- things….Hope I do not sound arrogant but it is not my thing, some part of this is naturally also uncertainty but…

Name 3 new gothic bands that have caught your attention lately?

I do not listen to anything actively – none of the “goth” bands have caught my attention since Sisters of Mercy.

Gothic Rock or Post Punk and why?
