Sisters of Mercy circa 1984-1985

Name 3 new gothic bands that have caught your attention lately?

Astari Nite, White Lies (if you can call them Gothic) and a band called FEHM that sound quite a bit like Chameleons…

Gothic Rock or Post Punk and why?

I wouldn’t be the musician I am today or the person I am today without both influences. They go together hand in hand quite nicely. Post Punk bands like Wire, Modern English, Gang of Four, Magazine, etc set the scene for Gothic rock’s ascendency afterwards and the reality of the situation is that gothic IS post punk and vice-versa…..it’s the same. There is no difference between gothic and post punk besides the words that define them….
