Must have been some Neue deutsche Welle stuff or maybe a Kajagoogoo Album…

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
The Jesus and Mary Chain
Fields of the Nephilim
Name your 3 favorite Gothic Fests?
I have not visited many Gothic Fests so I can just say that I prefer the small underground events like Sacrosanct where real live bands perform, because I simply love guitars and drums and bass. We also organise our own Gothic Fest Burg Sternberg where we try to keep the spirit of the underground.
Name your 3 favorite gigs as a musician and as fan?
As a musician it is difficult to say cause I’ve played many gigs throughout the years. The best gigs are always the ones when everything comes together in a perfect way: a great audience, perfect sound, lots of flash lights and fog and that special feeling when you get lost in your music, when everything flows and nothing else matters at all. These are moments of pure luck. And with every gig you play you’re seeking for this feeling, for this moment. My most favourite gigs as a fan where And Also The Trees in 1987 live in Detmold, The Chameleons reunion in Bielefeld in the early 2000 years and Fields of the Nephilim in Düsseldorf in 1991.
Name the most 3 influential albums for you as an artist
What does anything mean? Basically by The Chameleons
First and Last and Always by The Sisters Of Mercy
Psychocandy by The Jesus and Mary Chain
Describe yourself with 3 adjectives
It’ll be better when somebody else would who really knows me.
What is the most overrated gothic band?
I will not name any band that I don’t like. But I’d like to say that I don’t like bands who aren’t honest and who try to pretend to be somebody else. Especially in the scene where we are there are some bands that are so close to the Sisters or the Nephilims that it is somehow ridiculous. They should be honest and start a tribute band or something.
What is the most underrated gothic band?
That’s difficult to say cause there are a handful of bands that deserve more attention like Soror Dolorosa, Ascetic, Golden Apes, Sweet Ermengarde or Lotus Feed and other bands that we had the honour to play with and which I am lucky about that I got them to know personally.
In which band would you have liked to play live?
In no other band than in my own. Cause I’m not Wayne Hussey or Dave Fielding even though I adore musicians like them. I have had and I still do learn from other great musicians but I don’t want to be like them or replace them. At the end of the day you can only be yourself, simple as that.
Name 3 new gothic bands that have caught your attention lately?
Just look at the lineup of our own events the last years. We invite bands that have caught our attention and that we like.
Gothic Rock or Post Punk and why?
Both of it. Why? Why not. All these categories and labels are ok but in the end I love music that touches me. And then there is no difference if the music is goth or punk or pop or whatever. I’m listening to lots of non goth and non postpunk bands. Music is for the heart and for the soul and my heart and my soul don’t care about labels.
