What was the very first record you bought?
I really can’t remember the first record I bought but I remember some records my parents bought me when I was a little child, one of these was of a punk/new wave Italian singer called Alberto Camerini.
What is the most expensive record have you bought?
I’m not a collector so the most records I buy have normal prices, maybe a spent just more for some vinyls of The Lods of the New Church.
What are your 5 very favorite bands ever?
It’s a very hard question because it’s not simple to choose just 5 bands, but If I have to choose today, and I say today because I would probably give you a different answer tomorrow, I say The Lords if the New Church, The Damned, The Cure, David Bowie, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Name 5 bands that have changed your life?
The Cure because they were my first approach to gothic, Joy Division because made me understand the essential, David Bowie because it’s not only rock n roll, Lords of the new Church for their wilderness and The Doors that have fascinated me with their mysterious music.
Name your 3 favorite Gothic Fests?
I like very deep and emotional situations in small venues, so I have to mention last two festivals we played, which are sacrosanct in the UK and Dark Spring Festival in Berlin, very well organized with a very warm audience. Speaking of more huge festivals I have to say that wave Gothic Treffen in Leipzig still be the most important and diversified.
Name your 3 favorite gigs as a musician and as fan?
My favorite gigs as a fan are The Cure in Conegliano Veneto in Italy because we saw the concert under a hard storm and has been epic. The Damned in London, they played a great concert at Shepherd’s Bush Empire a venue that I like a lot. The Jesus and the Mary Chain in Ferrara, Italy a nice venue a great concert and funny friends, what ask more? As a musician with Stompcrash I say at Garage (Munich) in 2013, Sacrosanct Fest in 2015 and the first gig we ever did in Milan 10 years ago.

What is the most overrated gothic band?
From my point of view all the bands that still repeat themselves or try to imitate past seminal bands, are overrated. Have an identity and personality it’s the most important thing for a band.
What is the most underrated gothic band?
There are a lot of underrated bands especially in the underground scene of these days, too many. About “classic” bands I think Play Dead are underrated.
In which band would you have liked to play live?
For sure The Lords of the New Church but I’m not sure I get out live, probably would be safer choose The Cult.
Name 3 new gothic bands that have caught your attention lately?
Lately I don’t see very “new” things in the gothic scene, I mean I like a lot of new bands but to catch my attention something really new it’s needed. I still see band who sound like the same old glories, I think to keep alive the scene we need to move forward, be brave and try new ideas.
Gothic Rock or Post Punk and why?
Gothic Rock, I like deeper vocals, intriguing themes and all the imaginary around.
